Caramel Nut Bars

3/4 c. butter, divided
2/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1 c. quick rolled oats
1/2 lb. caramel candies (28 approximately)
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c flour

Mix butter (1/2 cup), brown sugar, and salt. Add oats and flour. Beat at low speed until particles are fine. Reserve 1 cup. Press remaining crumbly mixture in 8 x 8 inch dish. Place dish on inverted saucer in microwave. Microwave for 3 to 7 minutes at 50% (medium) for 2 to 5 1/2 minutes or until caramels are soft, stirring every 2 minutes. Blend well. Stir in powdered sugar and nuts. Spread over base. Sprinkle with reserved crumbly mixture. Microwave 3 to 8 minutes or until topping bubbles in several places, rotating 1/4 turn every 3 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
